This story tells the life of 3 good friends living together in a rented house. RUDY, is a movie extra that always play a ghost character in every film. AKHIR, is an employee at a petrol station and REMY is a shoe polisher. They rented a house owned by PAK CIK OSMAN BASAH. Find out how one of their friends died in the rented house.
First let me start that I’m a huge fan of Bocey in Maharaja Lawak Mega starting last year. They’re hilarious. So since this is their first theatrical movie, I’ve been waiting to watch it.
The movie starts with what looks like a scary ‘pocong’ scene, turns out it’s just Rudy (Achey) who works as movie extra playing ghost. So for most of the movie, Rudy is dressed as a ghost. Then Akhir (Abam) has this dream-ception (dream within a dream) about Rudy dressed as pocong who keeps appearing at his front door, bringing home his burgers. I love this part. It’s hilarious yet spooky at the same time. I wish it wasn’t a dream because it’s actually scarier than the rest of the movie.
The movie is more about friendship really. I like Yassin as Pak Cik Osman Basah, their landlord who has the ability to keep appearing in their house. That part is hilarious. Then comes his niece, Saiful (Epy Kodiang), who will be renting in the same house with Rudy, Akhir and Remy. That’s when he had an accident and they thought he’s dead.
The movie is about 1 hour and 20 minutes. For majority of the movie, we just see nothing but the daily lives of Rudy, Remy and Akhir. Only the last 20 minutes, we get to see what the movie is supposed to be, but it was just an endless chase scene as they try to revive Saiful and running away from him whom they thought had resurrected as ghost.
That’s it. There are some parts that’s funny. Some boring. I feel it’s a bit draggy, took too long to get to the chase scene. Ending disappointed me. It’s purely comedy movie, none horror at all. No supernatural element at all. The movie is okay, nothing serious, simple and straightforward, totally ‘santai’. It’s still better than all of stupid David Teo movies combined. But it’s still typical malay comedy, typical MIG movies, and overall it’s still stupid.
One thing I like, NO WOMAN.Oh that’s just so rare! Usually there’s always some pretty woman as love interest, but it’s like a breath of fresh air when we just concentrate on Remy, Rudy and Akhir.. not some girl who ‘gedik-gedik’ contributing absolutely NOTHING to the plot, making me want to projectile vomit rainbows.
But I don’t like how misleading this movie is. It could have been a good comedy-horro movie had they made pocong scene to be real, not as dream or as Rudy shooting or just him dressed up as one. I always find pocong terrifying, and I hate those who make fun of pocong *coughs*IndonesianMovies*coughs*. Sad, this movie could have been so much better…
